Welcome to historic and beautiful Spring City, Utah, settled by early Mormon pioneers in 1852. We are located in Central Utah, in the heart of Sanpete County, just five miles south of Mt. Pleasant (the geographic center of Utah). Nestled comfortably in the beautiful Sanpete Valley along the route of old Highway 89, Spring City looks out at the majestic Horseshoe Mountain and many other surrounding peaks. Originally known as the "Allred Settlement", "Little Copenhagen", and "Canal", the city is famous for the fresh water spring in the middle of town which never runs dry. The entire town of Spring City is listed on the National Historic Register.
We are a small mostly agricultural community, but we boast an amazing number of artists and writers who call Spring City their home. Many of the buildings in town were constructed in the 1850's, and some have been restored with the help of local residents skilled in architecture and historical renovation. The town layout follows in the tradition of Mormon street plans, eschewing names in favor of a numbering system (100 North, 200 South, etc.), although street names have been assigned. City planners have also been careful to maintain the traditional rural atmosphere of Spring City. Almost every home has enough room for livestock, which consists primarily of horses, sheep and poultry.
Make a point of visiting our beautiful city, seeing some of the pioneer architecture, and meeting some of our friendly people. It will enrich your life.
